My Sorrel

  1. Ingredients
    • 2 lbs Sorrel
    • 12 Clove pieces
    • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
    • 3 scoops of Sugar
    • Rum to taste
    • Water
  2. Special Utensils
    • Big Pot
    • Mixing bowl or jug
    • Storage Bottles
  3. Instructions
    • Clean sorrel by removing seed center
    • Boil 8 cups of water in pot
    • When boiling, put in sorrel, clove and cinnamon sticks
    • When water is at rolling boil, turn off stove
    • Cover
    • Let steep for 4-6 hours until cool
    • Strain into mixing jug
    • Sweeten to taste 
    • Add rum to taste
    • Pour into storage bottles
    • Freeze for long term storage

  1. Ingredients
    1. 5lbs sorrel
    2. 3 cinnamon sticks
    3. 15 cloves
    4. 8 quarts of water (to boil) + 4L afterwards
  2. Boil sorrel, cinnamon, cloves til rolling boil, the nturn off stove
  3. Cover and Leave overnight
  4. Add sugar and watre to taste, then bottle and freeze
