My Mashed Potatoes - For Kids


  • You need
    • Potato
    • Pot
    • Butter
    • Salt
    • Milk

  • Peel and cut one potato into rough cubes, similar size to allow even cooking
  • Fill pot with enough water to cover potatoes properlly
  • Add a pinch of salt to the water
  • Boil for 10-15 minutes, or until a knife can go through the pieces with no resistance
  • Drain water
  • Put back on stove on low heat for 1-2 minutes to dry out a bit
  • Turn off heat
  • Add a lump of butter, about the same size of a potato cube
  • Add two pinches of salt (to taste)
  • Add a pinch of black pepper
  • Add milk sparingly to get it to the consistency required (should be able to peak like frosting)
  • Fold, Mix and Mash as little as possible
    • The more you mash it, the more gummy it will get
